Lois Taylor is a Madison, WI based graphic designer and artist. At an early age Lois spent hours at the kitchen table drawing and painting. Lois credits her father with helping her develop her observation skills and appreciation for the beauty in nature and her everyday surroundings. With the encouragement from friends and family, Lois pursued an opportunity to apply her creative skills in a corporate setting that led her to earn a degree in graphic design from Madison College.
Working in corporate marketing, advertising agencies and design firms for over 30 years, Lois enjoyed working with many creative and talented people who inspired her and expanded her understanding of art and design in peoples’ everyday environment. While she enjoyed the challenges of creating and producing graphic solutions, Lois continued to explore different artistic practices outside of the workday.
While on her creative journey, working with different mediums and techniques, Lois gravitated to watercolors as they allowed her to capture the light and texture she observed in nature. The connection of observation to the brush to paper is what spoke to Lois’s creative spirit.
She enjoys sharing the beauty she finds in nature through her watercolors. Her paintings show viewers the beauty in nature that inspires her. Lois’s paintings bring the beauty of nature to the viewer, encouraging them to slow down and reconnect with the natural world. Lois lives in downtown Madison where she enjoys nature walks, spending time with friends and family and exploring the city’s food scene.
